I hope your weekend was a nice one! I took Sunday off, so I am a day behind in the Sewalong schedule- I hope you don't mind! Especially seeing as we are diving in to one of the trickier bits of the pattern. It's just got lots of little steps, so feel free to take as many breaks as you need as we work our way through assembling our skirt!

At the start of this year, I noticed that I lacked quite a bit of clothing that I could use in the garden. I remember I posted some sketches of ideas I had for what my gardening wardrobe might include at the start of the year, and one of them was a pinafore design.

Button Strap Fleur Sewalong- Part 5 - Pocket Assembly

After working on so many tricky bits over these past few days, let's take today nice and easy and focus on assembling our pockets and getting them attached to our skirt front.

With the wrong side facing you, turn top of pocket down 1/2” (1.3 cm) using
the notches as your guide. I also like to use my handy-dandy Clover Felt press thing. I got this a few months ago and it has really sped up my measuring game!

Over the past few days, we have managed to work on our straps and our bibs. Now is the time to attach those to our waistband pieces before setting them aside for a bit to focus on our skirt.

Flip to page 40 in your instruction booklet as we get started on finishing up the top half of our pinafore.

Working with one bib and waistband at a time, sandwich your front bib in between your interfaced front waistband and non-interfaced front waistband.
