Darted Front Chandler Sewalong - Part 8 - Finishing Touches

Darted Front Chandler Sewalong - Part 8 - Finishing Touches

Oh. My. Goodness- you are right at the finish line of your Chandler Trousers!  We've only got a few more steps to go.

For added strength (and to keep it from peeking out while you wear it), tack your front waist facing in place from the front of your trousers. I like to tack along the seams such as the CF, darts, or pleats

TESTER'S NOTES

A few of my testers mentioned actually sewing the ENTIRE front waist facing down along the bottom edge to keep it from riding up. This is particularly helpful if you are working with a super slinky material that likes to crawl, or a super bulky material that just won't lie as flat as you'd like.

Last but not least, let’s hem your pants! Iron up the bottom edge of your leg opening by 1/2” (1,3 cm), then another 1/2” (1,3 cm).

Sew along the edge.

*OPTIONAL* If you’d like to add a cuff to your trousers, simply turn up the bottom of  your hem 2” (5 cm) and then another 2” (5 cm).

Tack your cuff into place at the side seams and CF/ CB of the cuff.

YAY! You have officially completed your Chandler Trousers! I think it is time to show the world how awesome your new creation is!
